To The End
03:20
|
|||
TO THE END
I don't know where to begin
But I've always called you my friend
So, I can't pretend
And I don't know when,
But it'll hurt you
In the end
In the end
In the end, you'll be bruised and broken
We are weighted down by our sins,
And we cannot fly without wings
But "forget these things"
Every warm breeze sings
As they float us gently
To the end
To the end
To end, of our sorrow's journey.
Don't ever give in my friend
To the darkness
Look out for the love I send
Whenever I say 'amen'
Whenever I say 'amen'
You'll be blinded by the light
But you can have the life you deserve,
If you're not alone on this earth
So, for what it's worth
From your time of birth
I'll be there with you
To the end
To the end
To the end, though not a word is spoken
Don't ever give in my friend
To the darkness
Look out for the love I send
Whenever I say 'amen'
Whenever I say 'amen'
You'll be blinded by the light
Forever, and ever, and ever
To the end

All Of My Dreams
05:35
|
|||
ALL OF MY DREAMS
I never figured
I'd come to know
The wind in the willows
Had taken your soul.
I never figured
On growing old
On growing old… without you
I hear you singing
Your song in my heart
Murmurs and whispers
And sighs in the dark
I hear you singing
And it tears me apart
It tears me apart… when it starts
Now you've gone,
They say that all
Of my dreams
Can still come true
But all of my dreams… are of you.
Faded old pictures
Roll past in my brain
Long ago laughter
Calls to me again
Faded old pictures
But new printed pain
New printed pain… without end
I never figured
I'd come to know
The wind in the willows
Had taken your soul.
I never figured
On growing old
On growing old… without you
Now you've gone,
They say that all
Of my dreams
Can still come true
But all of my dreams… are of you.

Soldiers' Cemetery
03:48
|
|||
THE SOLDIERS' CEMETERY
I walked the soldiers' cemetery,
Where my father is not buried,
Rode the bus never taken by us,
I prayed to Christ Unrisen.
You said your love was temporary,
Lent to me as necessary.
Paid the debt, never had a regret.
I lived in debtors' prison.
What is my position?
Will you unchain me?
I know I was your sweet Mad Hatter,
When my wishes did not matter.
Took the prize and a ton of your lies
I pardoned your affliction,
I walked the martyr's crematory
Where I'll never burn in glory.
Ground our lust till it crumbled in dust.
I prayed to God Unsightly.
Does it even slightly?
Does it matter at all?
There's a moment on the other side of now,
When all our worries whistle past their grave.
Where emptiness is filled,
When fears are blown away
And young men never die to prove they're brave.
I walked the martyr's crematory
Where I'll never burn in glory.
Ground our lust till it crumbled in dust.
I prayed to God Unsightly.
Does it even slightly?
Does it matter at all?

Wonder Why
03:25
|
|||
WONDER WHY
Everywhere I go
People do, what they know
Make their smile a sigh
That says ‘hello, but means goodbye
Then they close their eyes
And say a prayer inside
“Lord help me to get by,
Though I wonder why… I even try.”
Everything we do
Is so real, but so untrue
It’s written in the book
Of our lives, but no one looks.
We just close their eyes
And say a prayer inside
“Lord help me to get by,
Though I wonder why… I even try.”
Every-time it rains
Pennies run
Down the drains
Falling from above
They’re not for you, they’re all for love
So just close your eyes
And say a prayer inside
“Lord help me to get by,
Though I wonder why… I even try.”

Young Man Waltz

YOUNG MAN WALTZ
What will I be?
Will anyone love me?
And when it's all over, who'll remember?
I should be reaching for a star
Haven't started so far
But when I do, will I follow my heart?
Some day I'll head on down the road
But when it's all been told
Will they smile and say he wandered alone?
What is there for me?
What is there for me?
Who will care for me?
What will I be?
Will anyone love me?
And when it's all over, who'll remember?
Where is my love upon this earth?
As much as I am worth
I'd give just to look upon her face.
Oh, will I earn my day of rest
And live amongst the blessed.
Or will the burden be more than I'll bear?
What is there for me?
What is there for me?
Who will care for me?

How Does It Start?
02:22
|
|||
HOW DOES IT START?
If you will dance with me, I'll walkyou home.
Nobody ought to be, left on their own.
We're not flowers on the wall
After all.
This could turn out to be, a night of joy,
Or just a goodnight kiss, from a lonely boy
I don't know if it all comes true.
Do you?
How does it start, this thing we call love?
How does it start - If it starts at all?
Open your eyes to see, the morning sun.
Open your heart to me, and we've begun.
We'll have another chance tonight
To make it right.
The you will dance with me, and I'll walk you home.
We'll never have to be, left all on our own.
We won't be flowers on the wall
After all.
How does it start, this thing we call love?
How does it start - If it starts at all?
